Glad Tidings from Baltimore

GLAD TIDINGS FROM BALTIMORE.

A Letter from the Secretary of the New Local.

I take this opportunity to write you these few lines, and at the same time use these means of introducing myself to you as Harry H. Johannes, Jr., Secretary of the newly organized branch of the International Brotherhood Welfare Association, endorsed by our mutual friend and comrade, Dr. How, whom I have had the privilege to know for several years.

I am a fraternalist and Social Worker in this city, being affiliated with several fraternal and religious societies, and for the past few years, I have been known as “The Humanitarian Hobo,’ which title I accept with honor in my work among the unemployed and migratory of this city.

The Eastern Conference held in the Monumental City of Baltimore, April 11th, 12th and 13th, has proved to be a ‘big success’ and has resulted in the organization of the unemployed.

Faithfully your comrade,

H.H. JOHANNES, JR., 1652 North Bentalon Street, Baltimore, Md.
